No one predicted the hands-on practitioner beauty industry would completely shut down by Covid from 29th February – 23rd September 2020.

My time was not wasted I am in the final year of He Waka Hiringa Masters in Indigenous Knowledge at Te Wananga o Aotearoa. I was awarded Te Rau Ora Māori Health Leadership Scholarship Award for 2020 by an impressive panel including Emeritus Professor Sir Mason Durie.
My challenge is writing a 20k word exegesis on The Kaupapa Māori Tikanga & Kawa for Māori & Indigenous Global Hair & Makeup Artists. Mātauranga Māori frameworks for Hair & Makeup artists soon to be academically backed will allow me to provide a depth of services previously unavailable.

However, 2020 finished on a high to be hand selected as the H.O.D. for ‘Legend’ the Kupe navigation film. With my child beginning primary school in February half-day and full-day industry contracts will resume. I made it! Lol 🙂
