Kia ora koutou katoa I am one of N.Z.’s first N.Z.Q.A. qualified hair & makeup artists. I whakapapa to Ngāti Porou, Spain, England, and Ireland, raised in Gisborne, Auckland and Mount Maunganui attending Carmel College and Tauranga Girls. I completed a pre-apprenticeship at the Rotorua Hairdressing Academy and was selected via scholarship process to attend Cut Above Academy in Auckland and completed my Hairdressing qualifications & further study in business. Cut Above offered me a place on N.Z.’s first N.Z.Q.A. qualified Hair, Makeup & Personal Development Course, becoming P.A. to the company’s C.E.O. Gael Thompson.

Internationally I freelanced in the U.K. during a two-year O.E. & on return to N.Z. I was the first Māori to be selected for the N.Z. Fashion Week L’Oréal Makeup Team under Angela Taylor. I ran Bianca Fallon Makeup.Hair.Styling for ten years, later moving to Māori Television, where I was appointed H.O.D. Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe. During my eight-year tenure, I wrote & starred in the station’s first reality television show, Headstart. I have worked with N.Z. top stars & celebrities from T.V. presenters, actors, models, sportspeople, musicians & politicians, too many to mention, and I have made all of them look amazing & confident, & 25 years on my passion for making people beautiful has not waned.

Awarded a Bravo Award from Cut Above Academy for services to the industry & selected to M.C. at Melbourne Fashion Festival in the first Aboriginal & Māori Fashion Show collaboration. While there, I delivered youth development seminars to the participants & was on the Schwarzkopf Hairstyling team for N.Z. Fashion Week. Balancing out the glamour by working with The Prime Ministers Youth Trust facilitating seminars on hair, makeup, personal grooming, fashion styling, manners & etiquette, deportment, health & exercise for youth at risk.

I was awarded a development grant to further Self Esteem for Life seminars for youth-at-risk youth towards anti-bullying, suicide prevention and teen mothers through Le Va.

Te Rau Ora awarded me the 2020 and 2021 Māori Leaders Scholarship to study for a Masters Degree in Applied Indigenous Knowledge developing the Kaupapa Māori Tikanga & Kawa for Māori Indigenous Hair & Makeup Artists achieving an A+ to Level 9. I also won the Ministry of Health Hauora Māori Post Graduate Scholarship for 2021. As an indigenous practioner, I acknowledge client priorities for cultural, religious and spiritual wairua and mauri reconnection.

I have completed N.Z.Q.A. double certificate and diploma in Rongoā Māori Medicine & Healing with Awhitia Mihaere, Joanne Hakaraia Olsen, Helena Nathan, and Riwia Te Kaawa. Ī am a Rongoā A.C.C. Practitioner I shapeshift people for a living using the tools of my industry.

I am currently studying PhD at Awanuiarangi.
