Kia ora koutou katoa, hello, I am Bianca Fallon one of N.Z. first N.Z.Q.A. qualified Hair & Makeup. I whakapapa to Ngati Porou, Spain, England and Ireland and am originally from Gisborne. Brought up in Gissy, Auckland and then Mount Maunganui attending Carmel College and Tauranga Girls then completing a pre-apprenticeship course at the Rotorua Hairdressing Academy before being select via scholarship process to attend Cut Above Academy in Auckland.
There I completed my Hairdressing qualifications & went on to study business for a year after which Cut Above Academy offered me a place on N.Z. first N.Z.Q.A. qualified Hair, Makeup & Personal Development Course. Upon completion I was appointed P.A. to the companies C.E.O. Gael Thompson.
Internationally I freelanced as a Hair & Makeup in the U.K. during a two-year O.E. & upon return to N.Z. I was the first Maori to be selected for the N.Z. Fashion Week L’Oreal Makeup Team under Angela Taylor, while running my own business Bianca Fallon|Makeup.Hair.Styling for ten years, later moving onto work at Maori Television, where I was appointed as Head of Hair, Makeup and Wardrobe Departments. During my eight years with the network, I wrote & starred in the station’s first reality television show, Headstart.
I have worked with N.Z. top stars & celebrities from T.V. presenters, actors, models, sports people, musicians & politicians, to many to mention and I have made all of them look amazing & confident, & 30 years on my passion for making people beautiful has not waned.
I was awarded a Bravo Award from Cut Above Academy for services to the industry & also selected to M.C. at Melbourne Fashion Festival in the first Aboriginal & Maori Fashion Show collaboration, while there I delivered youth development seminars to the participants & was on the Schwarzkopf Hairstyling team for N.Z. Fashion Week 2014.
I also balance out the glamour working with The Prime Ministers Youth Trust annually facilitating seminars on hair, makeup, personal grooming, fashion styling, manners & etiquette, deportment, health & exercise for youth at risk.
I was awarded a development grant to further my Self Esteem for Life seminars for youth at risk youth development for anti bullying, suicide prevention and teen mothers through Le Va.
Te Rau Ora Mental Health awarded me the 2020 Maori Leaders Scholarship to study for my Masters in Indigenous Knowledge. As an indigenous practioner, Bianca acknowledges client priorities for cultural, religious and spiritual tikanga activation.
