I am always highlighting the need for sun protection to my makeup talent especially the ones I worked with at Maori Television. Even if you have dark skin you will still require sun protection from sun damage caused by sun exposure.
My bets are on the fact that the majority of you who do not like your freckles do not use sunscreen, freckles are sun damage.
Then I see women using a thick foundation to cover up these freckles, it makes more sense to keep them at bay by protecting your skin from U.V.A. & U.V.B. rays with a good sun screen.
If you are in the sun Summer or Winter between 11:00am and 4:00pm it is vital that you apply a sun screen 15 mins before you go out side, what ever sunscreen you use it will need to be applied every 2 -3 hours, and that product that is left over from last summer does have an expiry date.
Enjoy the summer sun or your winter get away but remember that to much sun exposure and sun burn results in 300 people dying from melanoma each year in New Zealand and 2000 are diagnosed with it.
The intelligent person’s summer uniform will be long sleeved shirts, wide brimmed hats, sunglasses and some shade.
Be sun safe and slip, slop, slap
